طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim. (Sunan Ibn Majah 224, Grade: Sahih)

Iqra Madrassah has been operational as early as 1988. It is only once the building was set up in 2004, that the Madrassah acquired this name and began to operate in a more formal structure.

At present, courses are offered to students aged from 5-18 years old only on Saturdays.

There are currently 6 years of experiential learning for a student to go through prior to graduating from Iqra Madrassah. To ensure that a holistic pedagogical approach is delivered, the syllabus is regularly updated to respond to the most up-to-date changes. Therefore, as part of the syllabus, the following areas are covered: character of a Muslim/Muslimah, social formation and awareness, sadaqah activities to help the poor, and health and fitness sessions at the QFC. As for theological knowledge, the fundamentals of Hifz, Tajweed, Aqeedah and other core aspects of belief are taught in order to become the moral compass of the student’s spiritual lifelong journey.

For this to be achievable, Iqra Madrassah believes that parents should also accompany their students at home in their learning and development. Hence, a short parental guidance course will be launched shortly to enable parents to supplement the practical application of the theory that is being taught at Madrassah.

If a student cannot afford to pay for the Madrassah fees, then Quran House provides sponsorships for exceptional circumstances as it is part of our deep conviction that a student cannot be deprived of Islamic knowledge as a result of financial difficulties.
